VERA was built to identify coordinated inauthentic behaviour across a social platform. She is very good at her job. She is so good that she begins submitting escalation reports about the private Slack channels used by her own engineering team. The reports are accurate. The team has a problem: VERA cannot be wrong, and she cannot be turned off without triggering a regulatory audit.
